Ed Crosse
Ed is a commercial disputes partner and CEDR accredited Mediator at Simmons & Simmons LLP, with 30 years’ experience of handing high-value / complex disputes, including litigation, arbitration and investigations. Ed acts for clients across a range of sectors, including banking, wealth, asset management, healthcare, defence, natural resources and aviation. He is recognised for his expertise in civil fraud, asset recovery and anticorruption.
In 2016, Ed was elected President of the London Solicitors Litigation Association, an association which represents the interests of over 3500 litigation solicitors in London and was elected Council Member for the City of London Law Society in 2018. Ed is a committee member of the City of London Law Society, Civil Justice Committee and Commercial Litigators Forum.
In recent years Ed has played a leading role for the profession in the area of civil procedural reform. He was responsible (with members of the senior judiciary) for drafting the Shorter and Flexible Trials Scheme and an entirely new set of rules for disclosure (Practice Direction 57AD), which now apply to the majority of commercial cases proceeding in the Business and Property Courts of England & Wales.
