Jemma Pearson has worked in the recruitment industry for over 20 years, mostly within professional services and eight years at Grant Thornton. She currently leads the Experienced Hire and Senior Talent Resourcing functions at the firm, where they bring in c1100 new starters every year. Jemma’s passion for all things inclusive was realised around seven years ago, when she had a light bulb moment around how true diversity of thought, background and perspective can add such great value to a business, and how most recruitment processes were simply not inclusive. And how enabling opportunity for all, when considering job applications, attraction and recruitment strategies, was clearly vital. Since then, Jemma has led on inclusive recruitment for Grant Thornton – implementing inclusive initiatives, developing and shifting stakeholder mindsets and building a truly inclusive recruitment process for all of our vacancies. Continuous improvement is a key mindset for her, so building on the great work they have done year-on-year is key, as is sharing experiences and progress with like-minded external peers to drive greater inclusion across the workforce.
