Paul Duffy
Coming from a carpentry background, construction has been part of Paul Duffy’s life for as long as he can remember. After completing his degree in Construction Management, he worked as a site engineer between 2006 and 2018 with companies such as Sir Robert McAlpine, Skanska and Mace. He has been fortunate to work on many interesting projects varying from stadium construction to nuclear facilities to regeneration of a grade 2 listed power station.
Whilst working in the industry Paul’s mental health deteriorated to the point that he had to take a career break to repair the damage he had done to his mind and regain control over his mental health. He wants to share his passion for the construction industry and mental health. He wants to share his journey of working in the industry whilst experiencing poor mental health so that others may learn from his experience. Most importantly, he wants to help how mental health can be improved and managed by the industry for future generations.
