AMANDA OWEN, MBE

I am Heathrow Airport’s Wellbeing, Health and Safety Director and have previously held risk management and global health and safety (H&S) roles across retail, banking, healthcare, and aviation industries.

I started my career almost 30 years ago when there wasn’t much health in H&S. That’s changed of course, and I couldn’t be more certain that putting colleague’s wellbeing at heart of organisations is key to not just H&S performance, but engagement and business performance. That’s one of the reasons that I recently joined BITC’s Wellbeing Leadership Team.

I was honoured to be awarded an MBE in the 2021 New Years Honours for my services to Transport. I am a Chartered Safety Practitioner, with a degree in Economics, a MSc in Security and Information Technology, and an LLM in Employment Law. Outside of work I am a Board Trustee of a Charity for young people with special educational needs.
