MARK HOPKINSON

Mark Hopkinson has dedicated 20 years of his life to teaching and working at City Lit. He is the first deaf person to be the Head of the Centre for Deaf Education at City Lit, a role that he started in 2019. He has taught and assessed all levels of British Sign Language (BSL), from Introductory to Level 6, and is a qualified Internal Verifier, as well as providing consultancy and advice for BSL tutors in other colleges. He has lectured on the City Lit / London Met University ‘Deaf Studies’ Degree and has coordinated a number of training programmes for external businesses across London. Mark is a Board Member of Signature, a body for deaf communication qualifications in the UK.
