“When we launched MAD World Summit, the motivation was deeply personal. A young woman very close to me — someone I have always regarded as my own daughter — was struggling with her mental health while trying to find her way in the workplace. The support, guidance and understanding she needed simply were not there.
That experience stayed with me and became one of the reasons we created MAD World: to bring people together, challenge attitudes and help move workplace wellbeing from the margins into the mainstream of business conversation.
To see how far that conversation has travelled, and to watch MAD World continue to grow and evolve beyond my own stewardship, gives me enormous pride. Creating an event is one thing; creating something with a purpose strong enough to endure is quite another.
There is still much more to do, which is why I am particularly pleased to see MAD World investing in the next generation of wellbeing professionals. They will help shape the workplaces of the future and carry this important work forward.
For me, that is perhaps the greatest reward of all as a founder: seeing an idea you once believed in become something that continues to matter, continues to evolve and continues to make a difference.”
Simon Berger,
Founder, MAD World Summit

"When we created MAD World Summit it was based upon my own daughters struggles with mental ill health and as a young woman in the workplace looking for support, guidance, treatment and mentorship. It was just not there. She is now thriving but perhaps more due the care she received outside of the workplace than in it. Workplace wellbeing has made huge strides in the past decade but still requires much more investment from the boardroom and far greater awareness across all businesses and business sectors.
I am delighted to see that MAD World Summit 2026 has made a block of tickets available to 20 junior and early-career wellbeing professionals - they are the future of UK business and ensuring employee wellbeing is an imperative that must be treated like all aspects of employee care and not just rewards, benefits, pensions and occupational health.
